According to Erik ten Hag, manager of Manchester, Antony’s struggles at the club this season are a result of the team’s poor performance.
Ten Hag said that the team does not frequently give Antony the ball when playing against opponents, further placing the burden for Antony’s problems on himself.
In his 10 games for Man United this season, Antony has yet to record a goal or an assist.
The Brazilian was also unavailable to assist Man United, who lost to Newcastle United on Wednesday and were dumped out of the Carabao Cup.
“I’m a fighter and Antony is also a fighter, he has the confidence.
“He is brave and I am confident he will bring the performance that he is the right player for us.
“The team is not playing well when we don’t bring him the balls and I am also responsible for that.
“There was also a lot of noise and that dropped his levels. He can do better but all the players can do better,” Ten Hag said as quoted by MEN.
