The Louisiana State University (LSU) women’s basketball team has been dogged by rumors and speculation about their best player, Angel Reese.
Reese’s absence from the squad has sparked heated debate and internet turmoil, particularly following a social media exchange between her mother and the mother of teammate Flau’jae Johnson.
According to reports from LSU Tiger TV and OutKick, Reese’s suspension is purportedly the result of a poor GPA, a detail that emerged during a social media fight regarding grammatical errors and academic performance. Former LSU basketball players Alexis Morris and Jasmine Carson have been referenced in connection with this growing incident.
Angel Reese has been suspended…it's being alleged that's it due to a low GPA. The speculation began when Angel Reese's mom and Flau'jae's mom started reportedly beefing on social media:

Despite the reports, Angel Reese has actively expressed her support for her team on Twitter, while avoiding directly addressing the charges. LSU head coach Kim Mulkey addressed Reese’s absence, expressing hope for her return but refrained from getting too specifics. Mulkey’s response, which was often marked by sass, did not explain whether Reese’s decision to break away was her own.

The timing of Reese’s departure is noteworthy, coming just three days after she was benched for the entire second half during LSU’s victory over Kent State. Despite a strong performance with 11 points and five rebounds in limited playtime, Reese did not return to the court, a move Mulkey attributed to a “coach’s decision.”
Outside the court, Reese has been active on social media, including posting a TikTok video featuring a slideshow of roses sent by her boyfriend, Cam’Ron Fletcher, a player for FSU basketball. The caption of the video reflects a personal sentiment from Reese, thanking Fletcher for his support during challenging times.
