BREAKING: NLC, TUC declare nationwide strike

NLC begins indefinite strike in Oyo State

The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, TUC, have announced a nationwide strike in response to the assault on NLC president, Joe Ajaero.

The NLC has instructed its members to commence the strike, while the TUC has called on its affiliates to implement the resolutions of the National Executive Council.

TUC President, Festus Osifo, stated during a press conference on Monday that the strike will continue until government officials fulfill their responsibilities.

Osifo said the strike would remain until “government at all levels wake up to their responsibility.”

Last week, the Organized Labour declared an indefinite nationwide strike scheduled to begin on Tuesday, November 14, 2023.
