Nigerian singer-songwriter Peruzzi recently found himself caught up in a whirlwind of rumors about his involvement in writing songs for Burna Boy.
One of his followers accused Peruzzi of writing Burna’s popular song and criticized him for supposedly collaborating with other songwriters, while his supporters praised his talent with words.
Alongside these accusations, the follower also claimed that Burna Boy regularly stole songs from other artists, and warned Peruzzi that he would no longer write songs for him.
In response, Peruzzi swiftly denied these claims, firmly stating that he had no part in crafting Burna Boy’s captivating tracks.
Peruzzi wrote:
“Lmao don’t give me credit for what I didn’t do!”
Peruzzi’s involvement in the controversy arose when he disclosed that he had written one of Burna Boy’s hit songs, ‘pull up’.
To provide evidence, Peruzzi took to his Snapchat and shared a video of Burna Boy performing the song, hinting at his contribution to its lyrics.
In his words:
“I wrote this song at exactly 2:56am at Parktonian Hotel. One of my favs tbh. I’ll always be proud of myself”.
Reacting to Peruzzi’s disclosure, netizens tackled him for making his deal with Burna Boy public when he must have been paid for his service.
