Renowned Nigerian comedian, Atunyota Alleluya Akpobome, popularly known as Ali Baba, recently shared the heartwarming story of how he provided accommodation for fellow comedians, Basketmouth and AY Makun, during the early stages of their careers.
In a candid conversation on The Honest Bunch Podcast, hosted by actor Chinedu Ani Emmanuel (Nedu), Ali Baba revealed that both Basketmouth and AY lived in his Boy’s Quarters at a time when they were still struggling to establish themselves in the comedy scene.
He said, “Basketmouth and AY… When you think about it, these are people who were living in BQ [boys’ quarters] with me back in the days.”
This revelation comes after a 17-year-long feud between Basketmouth and AY, which was recently resolved when Basketmouth publicly apologized to his former rival.
As a gesture of goodwill, Basketmouth even extended an invitation to AY to attend his recent comedy show held at the prestigious Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos.
