Frank Edoho gives kudos to fans as he marks 50th birthday

Media personality Frank Edoho has addressed speculations about his alleged dismissal from the television game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.

The media personality who is well known for his exceptional hosting skills and humour on the show which captured the attention of numerous viewers, faced rumours of being dismissed by the show’s organisers for undisclosed reasons.

However, in a recent interview on the Bants and Boujee podcast, Frank Edoho debunked these claims, stating they were untrue.

He clarified that he has never faced dismissal from any of his broadcasting roles.

Addressing the misconception, Frank shared how a troll attempted to use the alleged dismissal to provoke him, leading him to question if this was a widely misconstrued belief among people regarding his career.

He emphasized that he was never fired; rather, the show came to an end in 2017.


“Nobody has ever fired me in my career, and the employer that makes a mistake to leave me, they have always regretted,” he said.

Originally a British show, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire was adapted for Nigerian audiences and was well-followed during the initial 13 years it aired.

Edoho received praise from fans for his presenting skills and sense of humour including the suspense he employed, which usually left contestants and viewers glued to the edge of their seats.

Past winners of the show include Osazuwa Osahon Daniels, who went home with N5m in 2009; Aroma Chimuanya, who got N10m in 2009; Babatunde Oladipo, who walked away with N5m in 2010; and Nnaemeka Ubaekwena, who left the show N5m richer in 2012.
