EPL: Last season’s 7-0 thrashing could help Man Utd – Klopp

Klopp breaks silence after Liverpool fall to Nottingham

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has suggested that last season’s remarkable 7-0 victory against Manchester United may actually work in favor of their rivals as the two teams prepare to face each other again this weekend.

The Reds’ triumphant performance at Anfield in March created a stir across the footballing community.

However, Klopp has now minimized the significance of that result, labeling it as an anomaly or a stroke of luck.

He told reporters on Friday: “The 7-0 we knew on the day was a freakish result that happens once in a life pretty much. If it helps anybody for the next game, it’s the team who lost 7-0 and not the team who won.

“If we just play a football game against the historical rival at home at Anfield, that itself makes it a special game and that’s what I want to see – a special game.”
