Why Nigeria is a dangerous place for Christians – Solomon Buchi

In a thought-provoking series of tweets, well-known media personality and writer Solomon Buchi didn’t hold back his concerns about the state of Christianity in Nigeria.

He boldly stated that being a Christian in Nigeria is living in constant danger, and anyone who disagrees with this perspective is disregarding the risks involved.

Solomon’s argument mainly centered around what he perceived as an inconsistent response from Nigerian Muslims.

He highlighted their vocal condemnation of the Palestinian genocide while remaining silent about the recent tragedy in Plateau, where more than 100 Christians tragically lost their lives.

Solomon labeled this behavior as hypocritical, suggesting that violence is only condemned when Muslims are the victims.

Expressing his frustration, Solomon drew attention to the tragic incident on Christmas Day where over 100 Christians were killed.

He criticized the lack of visible action or condemnation from the wider community.

He revealed that if 10 Muslims were killed by Christians on Eid-al-Fitr, it would likely have led to civil unrest and widespread national repercussions.

He wrote:

If ‘just’ 10 Muslims were killed in Nigeria on an Eid Al Fitr day by Christians, there would be civil unrest and massive national killings. Now imagine over 100 people killed in a Christian-dominated state on Christmas Day, and nothing has been done. Nigeria is rigged against Christians. If you disagree, you’re part of the problem.
