Reality TV star Sheggz has taken a stand in support of his girlfriend, Bella Okagbue, after she received criticism for her speaking voice.
Sheggz used a social media platform, X, to speak out against the trend of pretending to have accents and commended Bella for staying authentic.
He expressed his disappointment with the prevalent body shaming and negative comments towards women in 2023, emphasizing that such behavior is unacceptable.
In his tweet, he wrote;
“So it’s now cool to be faking an accent. I love the fact that my woman is real, true to herself. I think it’s sad that in 2023 people want to body shame a woman and speak down on her. It will never be ok, and if she overreacted then it’s understandable because enough is enough.”
This incident follows a previous encounter where Bella confronted a troll who mocked her singing voice.
CREEBHILLS reported the exchange, revealing Bella’s strong defense of her Nigerian accent and her frustration with ongoing body and voice shaming.
Although the troll attempted to downplay the incident, evidence uncovered by Bella’s fans suggests a pattern of intentional aggravation through consistent trolling spanning several months.
This comes right after Bella’s public outcry about not being liked by some Nigerians who had trolled her for asserting that she and Sheggz were too expensive to work with.
