2Baba pens emotional note to late friend Sound Sultan (Video)

2Baba, the iconic Nigerian artist and songwriter, also known as Innocent Ujah Idibia, has written an open letter to his late friend and colleague, Sound Sultan.

In the heartfelt letter, 2Baba reminisces about their dreams and how they are now coming true.

Despite describing himself as an upcoming artist, 2Baba acknowledges the significant prominence and success of the Afrobeat/Naija music genre, which can be attributed to influential figures like himself, Sound Sultan, 9ice, M.I Abaga, and many other talented musicians.

However, 2Baba takes a moment to update Sound Sultan on recent developments, as the late musician sadly passed away on July 11, 2021, after battling Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma in New Jersey, USA.

As a tribute, 2Baba also shares a nostalgic video featuring memorable moments with the late 44-year-old musician.

He wrote, “YO 😇 Lanre🙌🏾. like play like play we don enter 2024🙌🏾

Plenty story for ground. That our dream and wish for NAIJA/AFRICA music take over and respect don come true o, 👍🏽 🙏🏾. I don even turn to upcoming artist again lai dis. But we no go gree. MUTIJU😇🙏🏾”.
