Don Jazzy, the music executive and CEO of Mavin Records, has finally addressed the rumors surrounding the potential sale of the record label.
Contrary to previous reports, Don Jazzy suggests that Mavin Records is not actively seeking a sale but has been approached by investors due to its potential for growth.
He emphasizes that the label is lucrative and has attracted interest from foreign investors.
Don Jazzy also mentions that Mavin has had a successful partnership with current partner, Kupanda Holdings, for five years but acknowledges that the partnership may not last indefinitely.
He said, “It [the rumours about the sale of Mavin Records] is simple. We have investors, Kupanda Holdings, and they have been here for five years now, so dem go gona [laughs].
“Obviously, a bunch of people are interested in investing in Mavin. If you have gold or diamonds, people will always patronise you. And Mavin Records has a lot of potential.”
