Simi, the Nigerian singer and songwriter, recently opened up about her first encounter with her husband, Adekunle Gold.
In an interview with the Tea with Taye podcast, she confessed that she had no knowledge of his singing career at the time.
Simi had made a decision beforehand to avoid marrying a singer, but little did she know that fate had different plans for her.
Although she knew about Adekunle’s passion for music, she didn’t realize its significance in his life.
Interestingly, before they met, Adekunle was working as a graphic designer for various companies.
Simi was drawn to his kind and gentle nature, as well as his Yoruba background, and chose to pursue a relationship with him.
In a surprising revelation, Simi also mentioned that Adekunle Gold had sent her a message on Facebook, which she has yet to respond to till date.
