Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana remains undeterred by the criticism he has faced since arriving in England, as he predicts that it will eventually turn into admiration and support.
In a recent interview with Sky Sport Italia, the Cameroonian shot-stopper reflected on his transition from Inter to Manchester United.
Despite receiving some scrutiny for minor mistakes during the Premier League season, Onana maintains his focus on achieving success and has full faith in the potential of his team.
Last summer, Onana completed a €50 million move from Inter to Manchester United following an impressive season at the Stadio Meazza, where he was named the best goalkeeper of the 2022/23 Champions League.
During the interview, Onana expressed his pride in representing Manchester United and emphasized the significance of his journey from a humble background to playing for such a prestigious club.
“Errors are part of the training. People have big expectations from me; this is why I’ve been criticized a lot,” Onana said.
He recalled his time at Inter, where he initially faced criticism but eventually earned admiration and success. “It ended with eternal love, but the Red Devils are a bigger club.”
He also discussed his accomplishments at Inter, which included winning the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa in 2022-23, highlighting the importance of determination and teamwork.
Onana firmly believes that through hard work and dedication, he will prove his worth and earn the everlasting support and love of the Manchester United fans.
