Following his dispute with sportswear firm Adidas, Nigerian music singer Davido offered business advice to American rapper Kanye West.
It is no longer news that the brand ended its partnership with the then-billionaire rapper in 2022 after he made a series of antisemitic comments. Adidas has been selling off its leftover Yeezy inventory despite breaking ways with the superstar.
On Monday, Kanye resorted to Instagram to criticize the firm for selling a Yeezy design he never approved and taking advantage of his devoted followers.
He added that Adidas did not give him any royalties for the sneakers they sold out last year and are still suing him for $250 million while producing phoney Yeezys and selling them to his naive admirers.
“Anybody who loves Ye would not buy these fake Yeezys I never made these colorways I’m not getting paid off of them and Adidas is suing me. “All the new non-approved 350s are corny and everybody knows the 350 been corny.”
He posted a video to Instagram explaining his feud with Adidas, saying
“Not only are they putting out fake colorways that are non-approved, they’re suing me for $250 million and they’re also not paying me for these shoes that they’re putting out that have my name on it”.
n a follow-up post, Kanye penned an appreciation post to his fans and his colleague, Snoop Dogg for standing by him as he noted how their voices are being heard.
Taking to his comment section and his Instagram story, Davido offered him advice, admonishing him to work with Puma, another sneaker brand. Recall that Davido is currently the brand ambassador of Puma.
“Come to @puma Ye”.
We wonder if the American rapper would heed his advice.
