Xavi Hernandez, the manager of Barcelona, has affirmed that he stands by his decision to step down in the summer, even with the team’s recent improvement in form.
Following a convincing 4-0 victory over Getafe on Saturday, Barcelona is now in second place in LaLiga, securing their fourth win in five league matches.
Despite closing the gap to five points behind league leaders Real Madrid, Xavi maintains that he has no regrets about his choice to depart at the conclusion of the season.
When asked if he was sorry that he was leaving Barcelona, Xavi replied: “No, quite the opposite.
“The decision is very correct because the team has taken a step forward.
“I am very convinced of the decision. Not for me, but for the club. And thank the fans from the bottom of my heart for being by my side.”
