“‘My Mission Is Complete” — Robert Lewandowski Announces Barcelona Exit In Emotional Goodbye

Robert Lewandowski Announces Barcelona Exit In Emotional Goodbye

Robert Lewandowski has officially announced he is leaving FC Barcelona this summer, bringing an emotional end to one of the most important chapters of his legendary career.

The veteran striker confirmed the decision on Saturday through an emotional Instagram post that immediately sent shockwaves across the football world and left Barcelona fans reflecting on his impact at the club.

After arriving from Bayern Munich in 2022 during one of Barcelona’s most difficult financial periods, Lewandowski became one of the key figures in helping restore the Catalan giants to the top of Spanish football.

Now, after four seasons at Camp Nou, the 37-year-old says the time has come to move on.

“After four years full of challenges and hard work, it’s time to move on,” Lewandowski wrote.

“I leave with the feeling that the mission is complete. Four seasons, three championships.”

During his time in Spain, Lewandowski scored an incredible 119 goals in 191 appearances across all competitions.

His goals played a massive role in Barcelona’s three La Liga titles, including this season’s championship, as well as the Copa del Rey triumph in 2025.

More than just trophies, many supporters viewed his arrival as the moment Barcelona began recovering from years of instability following the departure of Lionel Messi and the club’s financial crisis.

“Barca is back where it belongs,” Lewandowski added in his farewell message.

“I will never forget the love I received from the fans from my very first days. Catalonia is my place on earth.”

His final appearance at Camp Nou is expected to be deeply emotional as Barcelona prepares to face Real Betis on Sunday.

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick confirmed that Lewandowski will start the match after personally addressing the squad to say goodbye.

Flick, who previously coached Lewandowski at Bayern Munich, paid glowing tribute to the striker while reflecting on their successful years together.

“He spoke with the team, said goodbye, and that it was a great time for him here in Barcelona,” Flick said.

“I’ve worked with Robert now for years, and we won together nine trophies.”

“For me it’s a privilege to work with him. He’s a professional player… every day he gave the best with his body to be at the highest level.”

The Barcelona manager also described Lewandowski as a “fantastic human” and a “world class player,” while praising him as a role model for younger footballers.

Barcelona also honored the striker with a heartfelt social media tribute.

“He arrived as a star, he leaves as a legend,” the club posted.

Lewandowski’s next destination remains unclear, although reports continue linking him with possible moves to Saudi Arabia and Major League Soccer in the United States.

Wherever he goes next, one thing is certain — Barcelona fans will remember him as the striker who arrived during chaos and helped bring the club back to glory.
