Barcelona successfully defended their Spanish Super Cup title with a dramatic 3–2 victory over Real Madrid on Sunday in Saudi Arabia.
Brazilian winger Raphinha was the standout performer, scoring twice, while Robert Lewandowski also found the net as the Catalans edged past Xabi Alonso’s Real Madrid to claim a record-extending 16th Super Cup title.
The match lived up to its billing as a high-intensity El Clásico, with both sides creating chances and pushing for control. Barcelona took advantage of their attacking efficiency, while Real Madrid struggled to contain Raphinha’s pace and movement.
Despite Barcelona being reduced to ten men late in the game following Frenkie de Jong’s red card, they held firm to see out the win and secure the trophy.
The victory further underlines Barcelona’s dominance in the competition and marks another major success for the club in the ongoing season.
