Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has ignited fresh political debate online after publicly backing former Abia State governor and current senator, Orji Uzor Kalu, following his recent criticism of Governor Alex Otti.
The controversy stems from remarks made by Kalu, who accused the current administration of lacking tangible achievements. According to the senator, Governor Otti has not initiated any major infrastructural projects in the state, aside from repainting roads constructed during Kalu’s tenure.
Reacting to the criticism, Doris Ogala took to her Instagram page to defend Orji Uzor Kalu, whom she referred to as her boss, insisting that his comments were factual and justified.
In her words, she wrote:
“What my boss, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, said about Governor Alex Otti is true. Alex Otti is only repainting roads that were originally built by Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.”
The actress maintained that the roads currently being showcased by the Abia State Government were constructed during Kalu’s time as governor, dismissing claims of new infrastructural development under the present administration.
Her statement quickly triggered mixed reactions across social media platforms. While some users applauded her for speaking the truth, others criticised her for allegedly undermining Governor Otti’s government.
The exchange has further fueled ongoing political conversations about governance, performance, and legacy in Abia State.
