South African singer and songwriter Tyla Laura Seethal, widely known as Tyla, has recently made her voice heard as she emerges victorious in the category of Best African Music Performance at the prestigious Grammys.
Tyla’s sensational track ‘Water’ outshined other notable contenders such as Asake & Olamide’s ‘Amapiano’, Burna Boy’s ‘City Boys’, Davido Featuring Musa Keys’ “Unavailable”, and Ayra Starr’s “Rush”.
The Grammy Awards ceremony took place last night, on February 4th, 2024, at the renowned Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, United States. It is worth noting that the “Best African Music Performance” category was specifically established for African artists and musicians.
