President Buhari has launched a plan to phase out the usage of kerosene

Former President Muhammadu Buhari commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his performance in office, stating that Tinubu has done well in his nine months as President.

Buhari shared his thoughts during a meeting with the Comptroller-General of Customs in Daura, Katsina State, highlighting the challenges of governing Nigeria and describing it as a difficult task with few solutions.

In response to criticisms faced by Tinubu regarding economic policies like fuel subsidy removal and exchange rate unification, which have resulted in inflation and economic difficulties, Buhari encouraged Nigerians to remain patient and support the current administration’s initiatives.

“I appreciate your visit. Tinubu has performed commendably. Nigeria is indeed complex, and there are limitations to what anyone can achieve,” Buhari stated.

In his response, Adeniyi expressed gratitude to the former president for supporting the NCS Act 2023, which expanded the agency’s authority to enhance revenue generation and facilitate trade, contributing to Nigeria’s economic growth.

Adeniyi also mentioned President Tinubu’s directive to return seized food-carrying trucks at the borders to traders, with the expectation that they would reinvest in the Nigerian market.

It’s worth noting that Buhari had previously acknowledged the challenges of governing Nigeria. In a November 2023 interview with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), he remarked on the difficulty of ruling a populace keenly aware of their rights and constantly scrutinizing leadership decisions.
