Daniel Regha, a controversial media personality, has turned to the X platform to speak about Afrobeats.
He claimed that it was insulting to describe to anyone as the “king of Afrobeats,” unless it was Fela.
He boldly stated that Fela Anikulapo Kuti was the only one who deserved to be referred to as the “king of Afrobeats.”
He also provided explanations for his opinion, revealing that without Fela, there would be no Afrobeats. He also disclosed that not only did Fela pioneer the Afrobeats genre, but his songs continue to inspire many Nigerian singers today.
He further revealed that Fela remains number one while others are self-titled.
