Davido set to pay former NFF president, Amaju Pinnick N30m over breach of contract

“They all come together to discredit me but God is working over time” Davido throws shade

Nigerian music musician David Adeleke, best known by his stage name Davido, is ready to pay former Nigerian Football Federation President Amaju Pinnick N30 million.

Creebhills reported a few days ago that a Delta State High Court in Effurun denied the singer’s appeal for a stay of proceedings in Amaju’s N2 billion lawsuit against him.

During the hearing, Davido‘s counsel notified the court that an appeal was ongoing and that the defendants, Davido and his record label, had filed a move for a stay of proceedings. However, he moved to withdraw the application, claiming that the Court of Appeal had usurped control over the lower court proceedings.

The Counsel to Amaju didn’t oppose the application to withdraw the motion and the court granted the same. Unfortunately, the court in a bench ruling upheld the claimant’s argument and held that until an order saying further proceedings is obtained from the Court of Appeals, the High Court will continue with proceedings in the case.

In an update to the case by Daily Post, the singer has agreed to settle the breach of contract suit filed against him by Amaju at the High Court of Delta State, Effurun.

Davido is set to settle the dispute out of court and has agreed to pay N30 million to Amaju, being a part contribution to the claimant’s outstanding legal fees in the suit within seven days of execution of the terms of settlement.
