Manchester City Goalkeeper, Ederson is set to miss up to four weeks with a leg injury

Ederson

Manchester City may be without goalkeeper Ederson for the vital Premier League encounter against Arsenal.

The Brazilian is reportedly a “major doubt” after suffering a thigh injury during the 1-1 draw with Liverpool.

Ederson collided with Darwin Nunez, resulting in a penalty, before being replaced by Stefan Ortega.

According to the Daily Mail, Ederson faces three to four weeks on the sidelines, perhaps putting him out of the Arsenal game on March 31.

Since joining City in 2017, Ederson has been instrumental in their success, winning five Premier League titles.

On the other hand, Ortega, who signed in 2022, is expected to step in during Ederson’s absence, having made 24 appearances for City, mostly in cup competitions.

Ortega’s only Premier League start this season came in a 2-1 win over Brighton in October.

Despite this, City will look to him to maintain their title challenge as they aim for a record fourth consecutive title.

Their upcoming FA Cup quarter-final against Newcastle precedes the Arsenal clash, making it a crucial period for the team.
