Blessing Akiode, known as Candy Bleakz, a rising Nigerian music star, recently shared her feelings about Olamide signing Temmie Ovwasa to his record label, YBNL.
In an interview with ‘Trending on Hip TV’, Candy Bleakz expressed her disappointment when Olamide chose Temmie Ovwasa over her.
Initially reaching out to Temmie in 2015 and giving her the title of YBNL Princess, Temmie later left the label in 2020 due to a disagreement with Olamide.
Candy Bleakz, a native of Epe, Lagos, revealed that she believed she was meant to be the YBNL Princess and questioned Olamide’s decision.
The 24-year-old rapper gained popularity after her hit single “Tikuku” in 2022 and is currently signed with Chocolate City Music.
Candy Bleakz also shared challenges in the industry as a female artist while conversing on Hip TV, stating that ladies face a lot in the music ground whether they are beautiful or not.
Recounting her humble journey, Candy Bleakz, who recently dropped her hit track, “Wale (Remix)” featuring Simi, emphasized that her success was a combination of God’s grace and her diligent efforts.
In her words, “The day Olamide Badoo unveiled Temmie Ovwasa (YBNL Princess) I was really sad. I was supposed to be the YBNL princess like why did they sign someone else.”
“For a female rapper, there is a problem whether you are preety or not.
