Ace rapper and YBNL boss Olamide Adedeji, popularly known as Olamide Baddo, has revealed that he has entered a new phase in his life—one focused on self-prioritisation and personal well-being.
Speaking during an interview with Flow 98.7 FM, the award-winning artiste said he has spent most of his career supporting others while simultaneously pushing his own craft, but he is now choosing to give himself the full attention he deserves.
Olamide said:
“Right now, I’m at the phase in my life where I’m really trying to give myself undivided attention.
All my life I’ve been trying to be there for people and also trying to do my stuff. But right now, I’m really just trying to focus on myself 100 percent.”
Over the years, Olamide has become one of the most influential figures in Afrobeats, credited with discovering and nurturing some of Nigeria’s biggest stars through his YBNL imprint.
His label has produced talents such as Lil Kesh, Young John, Pheelz, Fireboy DML, Lyta, Asake, Adekunle Gold, among many others.
Beyond signing artistes, Olamide has also given several musicians their breakthrough moments through collaborations and features, including Zlatan Ibile, Naira Marley, Portable, Bella Shmurda, and more.
His new declaration of self-focus has sparked conversations among fans, many of whom credit him as one of the most selfless contributors to Nigeria’s music industry.
