EPL: Pochettino slams Chelsea fans calling for Mourinho’s return

Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of Chelsea, has expressed frustration with fans who chanted for Jose Mourinho during their 2-2 draw with Brentford.

Chelsea is having a difficult season under Pochettino, currently sitting in 11th place in the Premier League, far behind Aston Villa in fourth.

They also lost the Carabao Cup final to Liverpool and have a tough FA Cup quarter-final against Leicester City coming up.

Supporters were heard chanting for Mourinho and directing offensive language towards Pochettino during the match.

While Mourinho had success at Chelsea, winning three Premier League titles, Pochettino is now facing criticism from fans calling for his dismissal.

He said: “Look, I respect Jose, he is my friend. He was amazing for this club, his medals here are amazing. We need to be pushing and believe in us and accept the things that come from the fans.

“If the players believe that with another coach they can do better…maybe they can talk with the owner or sporting director. You need to ask the players. You can ask. Do you see me worried about this?”
