Brazil legend, Romario announces shock return to football at 58

Brazilian football icon Romario, who is 58 years old, has announced his return to the playing field after 15 years of retirement.

He will be playing for America Football Club in Rio de Janeiro, where he currently serves as president.

Romario, who won the World Cup in 1994 and played for PSV and Barcelona, will be playing alongside his son Romarinho.

Despite receiving only a “minimum wage” salary, Romario has vowed to donate his earnings back to the club.

His main motivation for returning to the game is the opportunity to play for his favorite team and alongside his son.
