UEFA has fined Barcelona a minimum of €32000 for the actions of their fans during the Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain, particularly in the first leg in Paris, according to Marca.
The governing body has specified that Barcelona must pay €2000 for using flares, €5000 for causing damages and must contact PSG within 30 days to cover the cost of repairing seats, as well as €25000 for their fans’ racist behavior.
Barcelona has a history of facing penalties under UEFA’s disciplinary regulations due to their fans’ racist remarks in the past.
Most recently, racial chants were directed at Real Madrid player Vinicius Junior during a match against Napoli.
In addition to the fines, Barcelona will not be allowed to sell tickets to their fans for away games in Europe for the next year, although this sanction is currently suspended.
If there is any other infraction in the future, this will come into effect.
UEFA has warned the Spanish club about the behaviour of their fans in the future.
