Makhadzi speaks out after being nominated for the BET Awards 2023.
The South African singer, known as Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, is thrilled to be among other African artists like Tyla, Focalistic, Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, Tyler ICU on the list of nominees revealed on Thursday.
Makhadzi, best known for her hit Ma Gear, has been nominated in the Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act category.
In a post on social media, Makhadzi reflects on her music journey and expresses her gratitude for the nomination.
She also shares her hopes of bringing the win home.
“From selling cds 💿 in a street to BET. 😭❤️. Please help me celebrate my BET nomination for viewer’s choice: Best New International Act…. May God help us to bring it home,” she wrote.
