The 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season is slated to begin on Saturday, August 31.
This date was announced by NPFL chairman Gbenga Elegbeleye on the organization’s X account.
It remains to be seen whether the NPFL will keep to the kick-off date.
The 2023/24 season concluded last weekend, with Enugu Rangers winning the coveted title and N150 million prize money.
The Flying Antelopes won the NPFL title for the ninth time, with Remo Stars and Enyimba coming second and third, respectively.
Rangers and Remo Stars will compete in the CAF Champions League next season, with Enyimba representing the country in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Four clubs; Sporting Lagos, Doma United, Heartland and Gombe United were relegated to the Nigeria National League. Nasarawa United, El-Kanemi Warriors, Ikorodu City and Beyond Limits have been promoted to the NPFL.
