Sergio Ramos to leave boyhood club Sevilla after brief stint

Sergio Ramos, a veteran defender, will depart Sevilla this summer, capping a brief return to his boyhood club.

The 37-year-old will re-enter the market as a free agent, and many believe his next move will be outside of Europe.

Recall Ramos returned to Sevilla last summer following an 18-year absence, which included spells at Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

During his time there, Ramos was a key member of Sevilla’s defense lineup, helping the club avoid relegation and scoring seven goals in 34 appearances.

Despite speculation about his future, Ramos’s retirement is not on the cards.

He has been recently linked with a move to Major League Soccer’s San Diego FC.

Ramos will reportedly address his departure publicly at an official goodbye event on Tuesday.
