The Court of Appeal in Abuja upheld the election of Usman Ododo from the APC as the Governor of Kogi State.
The justices agreed with the tribunal’s decision that the SDP and its candidate failed to provide sufficient evidence in their petition.
The court also found that the petitioners’ witnesses were not competent as their statements did not comply with electoral laws.
It was also determined that the issue of certificate forgery should have been addressed at the Federal High Court as a pre-election matter.
Ultimately, the court ruled that the appellants did not prove their case beyond reasonable doubt, confirming Ododo‘s election.
