Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, has emphatically stated that Kevin de Bruyne will not be departing the club during this transfer window.
This declaration from Guardiola comes in response to rumors suggesting that he could be headed to the Saudi Pro League.
According to a tweet from Fabrizio Romano on Tuesday, “Pep Guardiola has just confirmed that Kevin de Bruyne will NOT sign for Saudi Pro League this summer. “No, Kevin is NOT leaving,’ Pep says.”
BBC reports that there has been significant speculation about De Bruyne’s potential move to Saudi Arabia in the summer.
Despite having one year remaining on his contract with Manchester City, he had previously mentioned that he would need to weigh any offers from the Saudi Pro League due to the significant financial incentives involved.
Kevin isn’t leaving,” he told reporters before his side’s opening pre-season game against Celtic.
