Ace comedian Chibuike Josh Alfred, also known as Josh2Funny, recently discussed the competitive nature of the Nigerian comedy and content-creating scene.
He dismissed claims that there was no competition, stating that such claims were simply misleading.
Josh2Funny did admit that while there may be competition in the industry, he personally does not see any rivals in comedy.
He pointed out that his skits have even been translated into foreign languages in Europe and Asia, showcasing his global appeal.
The comedian also expressed his displeasure towards fellow comedians who imitate his trends and styles without giving him proper credit.
Featuring in ‘The Honest Bunch’ podcast, he said, “What I won’t take is for people to be copying what I initiated without crediting me. No, I won’t take that.
“Let nobody tell you that there’s no competition in the comedy industry. There’s competition…
“As we speak now, my comedy is interpreted in Madarin, Hindi, Russian, French, and other languages. I’m not with you guys, bro. I’m not anybody’s mate in this comedy industry.”
