Carlo Ancelotti, the manager of Real Madrid, has explained why the club chose not to pursue the signing of Victor Osimhen last summer.
Osimhen was a highly sought-after player by top clubs in Europe after a successful season with Napoli, scoring 26 goals in 32 matches to help the team win the Scudetto.
Real Madrid had lost their star forward, Karim Benzema, who departed for Al Ittihad in Saudi Arabia.
Ancelotti stated that the acquisition of Jude Bellingham has helped to fill the void left by Benzema’s departure.
The Italian told Radio Serie A: “No (we didn’t sign Osimhen) because I think the club thought that Benzema’s absence could be remedied by purchasing (Jude) Bellingham.”
