Makhadzi borrowed money from Mashonisa to attend the BET Awards.
Makhadzi shares her financial struggles in a recent conversation with Mac G and Sol Phenduka.
The South African diva travelled to Los Angeles for the BET Awards, where she received the Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act accolade.
However, she stated that all the money spent on the flight was borrowed because she had none.
Makhadzi gave this sensitive information while praying throughout the interview.
The Ma Gear hitmaker thanked God for the victory, stating that it would have been pointless to fly for 24 hours only to lose out on the honor.
After her prayer, Mac G probed her about loaning money, and she explained that she had to borrow as she is battling with tax debt.
Months ago, Makhadzi made headlines for owning R2.7 million in tax.
The singer said every money she’s been making has been for settling the debt, hence she can’t afford flying herself out of the country.
Limpopo-born singer Makhadzi revealed she borrowed money to attend the 19th annual BET Hip-Hop Awards ceremony in Los Angeles, where she won the Viewer's Choice: Best New International Act award.
