After his release from police custody, popular Nigerian singer and songwriter Oyindamola Johnson Emmanuel, known as Dammy Krane, has issued an apology to Nigerians.
The controversy stemmed from his arrest on August 22 for allegedly defaming his colleague, Davido.
The feud began when Dammy Krane accused Davido of being complicit in the death of their mutual friend, Tagbo, and made scandalous claims about Davido’s personal life. In response, Davido’s legal team demanded a retraction of the accusations within 24 hours.
Recent reports revealed that Dammy Krane faced potential criminal charges for his statements but in a surprising turn of events, Davido dropped all charges against him, leading to his release.
Since regaining his freedom, Dammy Krane has expressed his regrets and apologized to Nigerians.
He wrote, “I WANT TO APOLOGIZE TO NIGERIANS FOR THE NEGATIVE ENERGY I HAVE PUT UP ON THE MEDIA BEFORE TODAY I KNOW ALOT WAS EXPECTED OF ME BUT I MESSED UP,I WISH I CAN TAKE BACK THE HAND OF TIME BUT ONLY GOD CAN,SO I WILL DO WHAT I CAN WHICH IS TO APOLOGIZE”.
