Manchester City has been fined £2 million by the Premier League for consistently committing kick-off and restart violations.
City were penalized for being late 22 times in starting or restarting games over the past two seasons.
Despite these infractions, Manchester City managed to secure the title ahead of Arsenal during that time period under the management of Pep Guardiola.
“The Premier League and Manchester City FC have entered into a sanction agreement after the club accepted it had breached Premier League Rule L.33 relating to kick-off and re-start obligations,” a Premier League statement reads in part.
“The breaches relate to a number of Premier League matches during the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons.”
