Ipswich sign Man City midfielder Kalvin Phillips on loan

Kalvin Phillips

A Manchester City midfielder, Kalvin Phillips, has joined Ipswich Town on a season-long loan.

The England international is said to have been enthused by the initiative after speaking with manager Kieran McKenna and chairman Mark Ashton.

The 28-year-old selected Ipswich over many other Premier League clubs, and City is believed to be paying a share of his salary at the newly promoted Tractor Boys.

On Saturday lunchtime, Ipswich will host Liverpool in the Premier League. Liverpool will play under Arne Slot for the first time. Sky Sports News understands Phillips was registered before Friday’s registration deadline and is available for the fixture.
