‘Prison experience shifted my perspective on freedom’ – Omah Lay

Omah Lay Net Worth, Biography and Music Career (2020)

Afrobeats sensation Stanley Omah Didia, best known as Omah Lay, has shared how his time in prison in Uganda had a positive impact on his life and music career.

Omah Lay and Tems were famously arrested and detained in Uganda for violating COVID-19 regulations by performing at a concert in December 2020. They were released on bail after three days.

In a recent interview with Amazon Music, Omah Lay revealed that his time in prison changed his outlook on freedom.

He explained that the experience made him appreciate freedom even more, which he now reflects in his music.

“”After being in that cell for three days, I just love my freedom so much now that I fight for it with every record… I don’t want to give Uganda so much credit for locking me up, but that shifted my perspective about freedom,” the ‘Soso’ crooner said.
