According to The Athletic, Mikel Arteta has agreed to a new three-year contract with Arsenal.
Since taking over from Unai Emery in December 2019, Arteta has successfully turned the Gunners into top contenders for the Premier League title.
Previously, Arteta’s contract was set to expire at the end of the season, but he has now decided to extend his commitment to the club until 2027.
This new agreement will also see Arteta become one of the highest paid managers in the Premier League, with his salary set to increase from £9 million to surpass Arsenal’s previous highest paid manager.
With this renewal, Arteta will be moving closer to earning a salary comparable to Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola’s £20 million annual salary.
