Al Nassr has officially announced that Cristiano Ronaldo has been diagnosed with a viral infection.
The Saudi Pro League team shared this information in a statement released on Sunday.
Due to this illness, Ronaldo will not be joining the team in Iraq for their AFC Champions League match against Al-Shorta.
This setback will be a major disappointment for Al-Nassr, as they have had a challenging start to their campaign, already losing four points in the first three matches of the Saudi Pro League.
The statement read: “Al-Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo wasn’t feeling well today and was diagnosed with a viral infection.
“The team’s doctor confirmed he needs to rest and stay at his place.
“As a result, he will not be travelling with the team to Iraq today. We wish a speedy recovery to our captain.”
