American rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is currently being closely monitored at the Metropolitan Detention Centre in New York as a precautionary measure.
The 54-year-old, who is facing federal sex trafficking and racketeering charges after being arrested on Monday, has been put on suicide watch.
His attorney, Marc Agnifilo, clarified that this is standard protocol for new, high-profile inmates like Diddy at the facility.
Agnifilo, who noted that he spent six hours with the rapper at the federal lockup on Thursday, said of the rapper: “[He’s] not at all suicidal. He was healthy, strong, confident and focused on his defense.”
The report did not reveal how long Diddy will remain under suicide watch.
