Chelsea’s head coach, Enzo Maresca, has disclosed his warning to new players Joao Felix and Jadon Sancho.
Felix and Sancho joined the Blues during the recently closed summer transfer season, with the former coming from Atletico Madrid and Sancho from Manchester United on deadline day.
Maresca, who has since resumed responsibilities as Chelsea’s new manager, disclosed a strong warning he sent to the duo regarding their work approach.
Maresca underlined the requirement to earn a spot in his team in a recent press conference ahead of Saturday’s match against Bournemouth.
“I spoke with Sancho and Joao Felix when they joined and I told them: if you come here and don’t work properly, then you’re not going to play”.
“Before they arrived the message for them was clear,” he added, as was revealed by football insider Fabrizio Romano.
