Mary Njoku laments how people misuse social media to solve issues

“Is the investigation still on” Nigerians react as Mary Njoku seeks answers to Mohbad’s case

Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Mary Remmy Njoku, has articulated her perspective regarding social media and the manner in which individuals often exploit it to navigate real-world dilemmas.

In the view of the role interpreter, certain individuals opt to adopt the role of keyboard warriors, expressing their grievances online instead of confronting issues in a tangible manner.

The mother of three, who is also the founder of Rok TV, remarked that she longs for the era when interpersonal interactions with those who cause disruptions could facilitate genuine dialogues aimed at resolution.

Mary Njoku further asserted that some individuals leverage social media as a means to garner public sympathy and ephemeral notoriety, which is the reason why issues remain unaltered.

The movie star advised that when people are done with social media, they should go back to handling issues in real life where no one cares about their struggles. Mary Njoku wrote:

“I miss the days when, if someone messed up, you’d confront them in person and have a real conversation.

Now, we’ve become keyboard warriors, seeking public sympathy and temporary fame on SM instead of facing issues head-on.
That’s why nothing changes!
That ‘Lecturer’ might still not be fired!

Real life is REAL and no one truly cares about your struggles. While on SM, Start solving your problems in the real world.

Wake up.”

“Wake up! Social Media isn’t REAL. Stop living in it. REAL IS REAL.”

Several social media users have reacted to Mary Njoku’s post. See some of the comments below:

okeybakassi: “Well said. Some problems are best solved “face to face.” Using your personal problems to entertain people who don’t care or probably have worse problems than you is an effort in futility.”
