Nigerian singer and producer, Philip Kayode, also known as Pheelz, has stated that music should not be seen as a quick way to get wealthy, going against the belief of some in society.
He believes that music serves a more spiritual purpose, describing it as “God” and emphasizing its ability to bring healing.
On his X handle, Pheelz wrote: “Music is not a grind.
It is not a get rich quick scheme
It is not a hustle
Music is life
Music is feeling
Music is healing
Music is God.”
In another post, the ‘Finesse’ crooner stated that the music business was man’s attempt to commodify God’s energy.
He wrote, “The music and the music business are 2 different frequencies to me. The Music Business is man’s attempt to commodify God’s energy. The Music itself is God.”
Despite many up-and-coming Afrobeats artists and established stars attributing poverty as a major factor in their music careers, Pheelz emphasizes the deeper significance of music beyond financial gain.
