Christopher Nkunku stood out in Chelsea’s Carabao Cup victory over League Two side Barrow, scoring a hat trick.
The French striker opened Chelsea’s account in the first eight minutes, completing a feed from Joao Felix with a precise volley.
Nkunku scored his second goal seven minutes later, expertly flicking in a Malo Gusto cross.
He completed his hat-trick late in the second half after Barrow goalkeeper Paul Farman mishandled the ball near the goal line, allowing the forward to finish easily.
His hat-trick earned him a standing ovation as he was substituted to rest ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League clash with Brighton.
Chelsea’s third goal came from a Felix free kick that deflected off the post and into the net off Farman for an unfortunate own goal.
Pedro Neto also added to the scoreline early in the second half, capitalizing on a mistake in Barrow’s midfield.
It marked his first Chelsea goal since joining from Wolves.
Ben Chilwell, who had been left out of recent squads, also made a second-half appearance, marking his first game since April.
Chelsea’s win sees them advance to the Carabao Cup fourth round.
