Randy Waldrum has resigned as the head coach of Nigeria’s women’s national team, the Super Falcons, citing his wife’s health challenges.
In his statement, Waldrum expressed that recent weeks following the Olympics have been difficult. After much consideration, he decided to step down to allow the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) time to find a new manager for the team.
The 67-year-old took charge of the Super Falcons in 2020.
The former Trinidad and Tobago head coach turned down the chance to manage the team three years earlier.
Waldrum combined the Super Falcons role with that of Pittsburgh Panthers.
His last game in charge of the Super Falcons was the 2024 Olympic Games group stage match against Japan.
