Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has denied allegations of a feud with Marcus Rashford, calling them “crazy”.
Rashford was dropped from United’s starting lineup for the goalless draw against Crystal Palace.
Following this, Sky Sports commentator Jamie Redknapp speculated that Rashford’s omission indicated an underlying conflict between the player and his manager.
“It feels like something untoward has gone on,” Redknapp said.
Recall Rashford had scored three goals in his previous two matches, including two in the midweek 7-0 win over Barnsley in the League Cup.
In response, Ten Hag hit out at the speculation. “As a person, you are not OK when you bring such speculation if you don’t know. This has nothing to do with it,” he said.
“I’m very happy with Marcus. He’s performing very well,” The manager clarified.
He added that Rashford’s benching was purely rotational. “We have many games to cover.”
