On  Friday, Donald Trump levied accusations against Google for purportedly presenting solely negative narratives concerning himself and pledged to initiate legal action against the technology behemoth in the event of his return to the White House.

Trump asserted this on his Truth Social platform, contending that the search engine predominantly displays favorable articles concerning his Democratic counterpart, Vice President Kamala Harris.

“This is an ILLEGAL ACTIVITY, and hopefully, the Justice Department will criminally prosecute them for this blatant Interference of Elections,” Trump said in his post. He added that, if elected in the upcoming election, he would seek Google’s prosecution “at the maximum levels” if the Justice Department does not take action.

Trump’s allegations ensued subsequent to a report issued by a conservative organization that purportedly identified biased outcomes when conducting searches for “Donald Trump presidential race 2024.”.

Nevertheless, Google refuted these allegations, affirming that the campaign websites of both Trump and Harris consistently rank at the top of search results for pertinent inquiries.

Google emphasized that it does not engage in the manipulation of search results to favor any political aspirant.

The company further indicated that search outcomes are shaped by various factors, including the relevance and popularity of the subjects in question.

Presently, Trump is embroiled in numerous legal proceedings, contending with allegations pertaining to sexual misconduct, the provision of hush money, interference in the 2020 electoral process, and efforts to obstruct a peaceful transition of power following his defeat to President Joe Biden.
